Teinlos are renowned for their creative repurposing of military detritus, quickly converting old war machines into new equipment for a new purpose.
The notoriously byzantine Teinlos Syndicate trades on the Galactic Trade Exchange in fierce competition with several other manufacturing and design organisations, most notably Corellian Engineering. Possessing major ship-building facilities across several sectors, its diversified cross-economics are a wonder to behold; certainly, there are few in the galaxy who can understand them, so most don't bother.
The corporation owns a plethora of subsidiary companies of various degrees of legality, rumoured to be legitimate fronts for the Black Sun organisation, and has more than a dozen times in as many years been sanctioned by the Imperial Commerce Organisation (ICO) for breaches of trade laws.
However, because of the almost infinite complexity of the subsidiary-of-subsidiary-of-subsidiary system utilised by Teinlos, it is often difficult even for the Empire to trace the activities of a given sub-contractor or branch and take action through the sluggish courts before Teinlos has liquefied them or absorbed them within some other division of the colossal, kraken-like organisation.
