A regular at the notorious Hutt Bunker, the information broker, rumour runner, job-hunter, salt junkie, and intermediary for all and sundry known as Ruce Brogna has become something of a local fixture. Not simply as a barfly at the Bunker, but also as a reliable source of local intelligence.
If there is a job to be done, somehow Brogna knows about it. Very little takes place on the planet—and even within the system and as far afield as other planets in the sector—that the Arcona doesn’t know about. Some people say that half of his jobs pay for his lifestyle, and the other half cover up his own tracks. While many don’t trust him or a word that comes out of his mouth, the sheer volume of trade he engages in suggests that his business is built on at least a modicum of authenticity.
Whether or not his loyalty can be trusted is another matter. Brogna deals with a vast array of clients, from corporate interests to the local industries on Aaru IV, to all manner of local troublemakers, criminals and crime bosses, and even the Galactic Empire. Through all of it, the Arcona insists on his neutrality: he will always accept jobs from any client, though some whisper that he feeds more information back to his clients than those who do the jobs would actually be comfortable with. It is perhaps this sole fact which allows him to continue working under the disdainful eye of the Hutt Bunker’s properietor, Thaddeus.
As with all things to do with the shady information broker, it is impossible to tell truth from fiction. Except when it comes to the jobs themselves, which always seem to have a payday at the end.
