Hoth VI
FROZEN FERAL WORLD | OUTER RIM
Features
Remote. The sixth planet of the Hoth system is an incredibly remote, distant location which would be of very little interest to anyone in the galaxy had a particularly pivotal battle taken place here in the latter stages of the Clone Wars.
Dangerous Wildlife. Even during the battle which takes the planet’s name, various Jedi, Sith and other soldiers found themselves at the mercy of truly vicious local fauna in particular, such as the semi-sapient wampas, a terrifying and incredibly territorial native biped.
Jedi Remnants. While Hoth VI is not officially colonised, there is a small population in some very small local pockets, often centred on a number of ruins and remnants of the Jedi fortresses which were hastily constructed on the planet as they sought to avoid retribution from the resurgent Sith. That they failed at this task is reflected in the parlous state of these remaining edifices, which have been reduced to slag, or ravaged and gutted from the inside. Only one or two remain structurally sound.
Unaligned. Neither truly independent nor within the auspice of any particular faction, Hoth VI is so sparsely settled that it is simply impossible to say where the loyalty of its tiny population might actually lie.
Locations
The White Graveyard. A truly sobering reminder of the brutality of the Clone Wars, one of the regions around a particularly prominent Jedi ruin called Station Three-Eight remains littered with the various damaged detritus from one of the many skirmishes which took place on the planet. It is estimated that over thirty thousand bodies—whether Jedi, Sith, or mercenaries is now impossible to tell—remain entombed within this frozen field, which now resembles something of a lake in which the grim shadows of vaguely humanoid forms can be seen several metres below the transparent surface.
Phenomena
A standard day on Hoth VI lasts two hundred and six hours, and the length of its solar year is two hundred and four local days.
Native flora is unusually hardy, and somewhat prolific despite the harsh environment on the planet. Hoth’s fauna is widespread, including the native tauntauns which have been domesticated and dispersed to similar environments throughout the galaxy.
