Ambassador Yora Kloss

Born on Alderaan into a prestigious family, Yora Kloss was discovered to have unusually strong affinity for the Force. Taken to a Jedi temple on Tython for training as a teenager, she quickly become one of the temple’s most outstanding padawan learners. Apprenticed to the famous Jedi Master Kal Ul-Maas, she progressed at a prodigious rate, outstripping most of her contemporaries.

By the time of the troubles between the Jedi, shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Kloss had shown her prowess as a diplomat, and was assigned as an Ambassador to negotiate with the Galactic Senate on behalf of the Jedi Order. Her work with Senator Garm Bel-Iblis became famous among the diplomatic corps for its productivity, with the two rightly earning great praise for their efforts. Yet, when the schism affecting the Jedi grew beyond the realm of political bickering, her former master Ul-Maas became a prominent figure in the conflict, and so Ambassador Kloss also began to contribute, scaling back her work with the Senate and involving herself in the growing conflict.

By that time a Jedi Master herself, Kloss became a proponent of ending the war in a peaceful fashion, by negotiation rather than combat. When her former master was killed, Kloss began to change, her focus shifting from negotiation to ensuring that the conflict might be won through forcing both sides to face the responsibility of their position and placing an untenable strain on their political positions. The archives since recovered from the Grand Temple on Coruscant now reveal the extent to which Kloss had manipulated a number of the key players in the factional warfare between the Jedi.

Tragically, her consular ship was mysteriously destroyed en route to an unknown destination above the swamp planet of Kolgorra, and was never heard from again. Predictably, many rumours have continued to swirl around her fate, and who might have been behind the attack which destroyed her vessel. Those who support this theory often point to the later assassination of Senator Bel-Iblis as evidence of conspiracy against efforts to reunite the galaxy in a peaceful fashion.
